:: i think porn in our society is a problem. for women I think it creates an unhealthy concept of what you should be. for men... it's destroying our relationships with friends, our marriage and our sex lives.
:: it's everywhere now. there's what I like to call "fake porn" like Maxim magazine. It's easier to say you buy it for the articles if they women's nipples are covered right? and the internet is covered in it. remember the good old days when you used to have to go to a theater and sit next to Paul Ruebens to see a porn movie? In the year 2000 there were over 11,000 home video porn titles released compared to about 400 from the major Hollywood movie market.
:: porn teaches us to devalue women: not only are they referred to as "bunnies" or "playmates" but they are promised to us along with car purchases. draped across the front in a subliminal "buy one get one free" offer.
:: porn teaches us that women like rape: most popular porn involves degrading treatment of women (i.e. ejaculating on her face, using her and dumping her, etc.). but porn goes further. It is not an uncommon porn scenario for a woman to repeatedly say no, only to succumb to passion. in porn, "no," means nothing.
:: porn teaches us that sex with minors is fine: don't believe me? go to Google and look up "teen sex". while sights promise that all models are 18 and over, the term "teen sex" is meant to create the idea that these girls are minors.
:: porn desensitizes us: just like a drug addict needs a little bigger hit each time. the porn addict needs a little more perversion. soon, the woman we love just doesn't cut it for us anymore.
